Mt. Norquay – Earliest Opening Day Ever!

Toronto (Canada) On October 26th, Adbloc Media partner Mt. Norquay, 5 minutes from Banff Alberta, and one hour from Calgary, became the first ski area in Canada to open its chairlifts for the 2012-2013 ski season.

In the past 7 days, Fernie Alpine Resort (BC) received 33 cm of new snow brining year-to-date snowfall to 88 cm and Lake Louise (AB), one of Canada’s most prominent ski areas, saw 31 cm of new snow in the past week and already boasts a base of up to 46 cm. Lake Louise is set to open its lifts – on schedule – November 9th.

With Farmer’s Almanac predicting a cold winter and above average precipitation across most major Canadian ski regions, we expect an early start and sustained activity across all our ski area partners’ operations this winter.

Adbloc Media has 16,000 ad faces strategically placed on the safety bar of ski area chairlifts across Canada, targeting the most affluent participant sport audience – skiers and snowboarders – who spend 7 minutes absolutely captive with the advertiser’s brand and message.
