NATIONAL SKI CONDITIONS REPORT Heavy Snow with an Ultra-Premium Target Audience
As of December 11, 2014, aggregate snowfall in the Greater Toronto Area had already reached 1/3 of its historical level for the entire year! Mt. St. Louis Moonstone and Horseshoe Resort, two key ski areas serving the GTA, are already operating at full capacity.
In western Canada, onthesnow.ca reports an 80 cm base depth at Banff’s iconic Lake Louise Ski Resort, an 86% increase over average depth for the past 5 ski seasons and the last weekends running of the annual 24h Tremblant signaled the unofficial start of the ski season in La Belle Province.
Peter Machalek, Managing Partner of Adbloc Media, noted “more snow means more skiers and boarders, and this year is off to an exceptionally great start conditions-wise”. Machalek added “if snow conditions continue on trend, as many as 20 million snow sports enthusiast will visit Canadian ski areas this winter; that’s 20 million extremely affluent, active and family-oriented consumers who are not shy to spend or invest a dollar.”
